Health Education Program Colorectal Cancer

Param CARE Foundation strongly believes that total health of each and every citizen is the true reflection of community, state and the country. Hence to enhance the health quality and literacy, we outreach the people through our educational & awareness seminars / workshops on health, disease and healthy life style.

Colorectal cancer, also called colon cancer is the cancer occurs in the colon or rectum located at the digestive tract’s lower end. As colon cancer are the third most common type of cancer and second leading cause of death in men and women combined in the U.S.A. which can occur in men and women of all social and ethnic groups at any age or stage of life.

Colon cancer is treatable by a medical professional if diagnosed at early stage. Hence ParamCARE Foundation in association with representative of Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ) has conducted awareness and screening program on colorectal cancer at Param Adult Day Care, Morris Plains, N.J. on November 8, 2016. Large number of senior residents participated and took the advantage of free awareness seminar and screening.

Since establishments, Param CARE Foundation is working for the communities by working with communities for wellbeing of the people, physically, mentally and socially. The team at Param CARE believes in total Devotion, Dedication and Diligence. We promote strategies and activities to raise healthy behavior among population, through social learning, so that people can come closer to build a healthier community and country.

To spread awareness for chronic disease self-management, fall prevention and other activities for senior we sponsored ‘Dewali Festival’ celebration event organized by Indian American Senior Association of Morris County at Parsippany Hills High school, Morris Plains, NJ on October 22, 2016. Large number of seniors participated in the event and knew about the usefulness of heath care related activities.

Mr. Vipul Amin-the President of Param Care Foundation wished and prayed for good health of senior citizens and explained about the contributions and activities of Param Care Foundation and services like Falls Preventive Exercise Program, CDSMP, Cancer Awareness & Screening Program, Day Care Services, etc. available for all senior citizens.

Mayor’s Health Expo 2016

ParamCARE Foundation outreach the people of various communities, irrespective of their race, ethnicity, cultural, social or economic status, and provided innovative solutions to improve health and enhance the quality of life and well-being we organizes or promote various events in form of community fairs, health & cancer screenings, educational and nutritional seminars and yoga sessions for the local community.

Recently, we participated in Woodbridge Township Mayor’s Health Expo 2016 on October22, 2016 at Woodbridge Township Public Health Center. Where we provided free skin cancer guidance and screening services according to the needs of the participants. About 50 participants took the advantage of our free services.

Breast care awareness seminar

Param Care Foundation promote strategies and activities to raise awareness on health maintenance and disease prevention, in a culturally sensitive manner ParamCARE Foundation in partnership with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) has organized ‘Breast Care Awareness Seminar’ on October 21, 2016 at American Legion Nutley Post 47, Iselin, NJ. ParamCARE Foundation has organized this event along with ‘Diwali Festival Celebration’, which is traditional Indian cultural festival, also known as the festival of lights means removal of darkness and spreading of lights in the path of life. Number of participants from various communities celebrated & enjoyed these events along with delicious food and musical program.

Mr. Vipul Amin- the President of Param Care Foundation explained the mission of foundation and explained about the one of the moral values of Diwali festival with regards to this event that is like a darkness removal of diseases from life and achieving good health.

ParamCARE Foundation has participated in ‘Morris County Wellness Day’ exhibition organized by the Office of Health Management, Morris County of New Jersey, at Morris Plains Community Center on October 15, 2016. This Event was organized to increase health awareness, health checkup and disease prevention in senior people of the community.

ParamCARE Foundation participated as an exhibitor and presented health awareness & various diseases of seniors, physical, mental and social problems, chronic diseases prevention program (CDSMP), falls prevention program and senior care in detail. Large number of seniors visited the booth and got the details of various programs.

Chronic Disease Self Management Program

The Param CARE Foundation promotes strategies and activities to raise awareness on health maintenance and disease prevention, in a culturally sensitive manner. Healthy behavior among population, through social learning, and thereby get closer to build a healthier community and country is one of the goal of our foundation.

Chronic disease has been characterized as the public health challenges of the 21st century as per the commissioner of the N.J. Department of Health. New Jersey Chronic diseases like cardio vascular diseases, stroke, cancer, arthritis, asthma, diabetes, mental disorders etc. cannot be prevented by vaccination but can be controlled easily by following medication and evidence based self-management program. (CDSMP) Since chronic diseases puts a tremendous burden on individuals, families, communities and the country, because of its devastating effects, physically, mentally, socially and economically management of the chronic diseases are most important. It is proved that chronic diseases prevention and control helps people to live longer, healthier and quality of life.

ParamCARE Foundation is a licensed partner for Chronic Disease Self-Management program with the Division of Aging Services, Department of Human services, State of New Jersey, in the delivery of take control of Health at multi-site in New Jersey, self- management program (CDSMP) since 2014. We are included in the list of licensed partner’s agency and we comply with Stanford University’s requirements for CDSMP delivery and administration. Our master trainers are certified by Stanford University.

We have successfully conducted Stanford University’s Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP).at ParamCARE Foundation site from July 26, 2016 to August 31, 2016. This program primarily focuses on healthy lifestyle and how to stay fit even if suffering from chronic disease.. Participants gained knowledge on self-management techniques such as action planning, relaxation, mind distraction, physical exercise, breathing techniques, healthy eating and weight management. Workshop participation certificate was awarded to each participant.
